Miss Beauty Pageants

Beauty pageants are competitions that are held primarily as a contest of physical beauty. In most common scenarios, beauty pageants will also incorporate assessments based on personalities, talents, and intelligence via question and answer portions. Majority of the beauty contests that are held regularly are for female contestants only, and very rarely are there pageants for male contestants.

The winners and contestants of beauty pageants are referred to as beauty queens. There are many different beauty pageants nowadays that are held annually in many different countries around the world, either as a prestigious pageant in itself or as a preliminary pageant that will allow the pageant winner to compete in international contests. Countries like Colombia and Venezuela are very serious about such events, and regard their beauty pageants and beauty queens quite highly.

There are three international beauty pageants that are known worldwide these days: the Miss Universe pageant, the Miss World pageant, and the Miss Earth beauty pageant. All of these international beauty events are major events that a lot of countries prepare for yearly. These events have much higher prizes at stake, and the would-be reigning beauty queen of the year will be a part of many different projects and global events that are truly one of a kind experiences.
